Shree Siddharoodha Swamiji Hubballi Junction is one of the most important railway stations in northern Karnataka and a major operational centre of the South Western Railway.
The station, identified by the code UBL, serves Hubballi and the surrounding Hubballi-Dharwad metropolitan region. It connects Karnataka with major destinations across southern, western and northern India.
Hubballi Junction became internationally famous because of its exceptionally long railway platform. In March 2023, the Government of India dedicated a 1,507-metre-long platform at the station to the nation. The platform was recognised by Guinness World Records as the world's longest railway platform.
The new platform was developed at a cost of around ₹20 crore. Its extraordinary length allows railway authorities greater flexibility in handling long passenger trains and multiple railway movements.
The station has eight platforms and forms part of the Hubballi Division of South Western Railway.
Hubballi itself is an important commercial and transport centre of Karnataka. The railway junction provides connections towards Bengaluru, Goa, Pune, Mumbai and several other important regions.
The station's world-record platform has transformed Hubballi from an important regional junction into one of the most notable railway stations in India from an engineering and infrastructure perspective.
